engagement offerings
Three ways to engage with the practice
Each engagement is distinct in form and purpose. A team may find that only one fits, or that they return to different engagements at different points in their work with applied systems.
back to homehow we work
The methodology behind every engagement
The firm's approach to all three engagements shares a common set of principles. We begin by establishing what is already known and what is genuinely uncertain. We attend to both the technical and the human dimensions of the work. And we produce written material that your team can use independently of any further involvement from us.
We do not begin engagements with a conclusion already in mind. The direction of a scoping note, a review assessment, or a quarterly reflection is shaped by what we find in the work, not by what we anticipated at the outset.
-
01
Initial exchange
A structured written exchange to establish the scope of the engagement, the team's situation, and the materials we will need access to.
-
02
Structured inquiry
Conversation with the team members closest to the work, review of relevant documents, and where applicable, technical examination of the system under review.
-
03
Drafting and review
A draft of the written deliverable shared with the client team for factual review before the final document is issued.
-
04
Delivery and follow-up
The final document is delivered with an offer to discuss questions that arise from reading it. This is included in the engagement fee.
engagement 01
Applied Scoping
A short engagement in which the firm helps a client team articulate the question, the constraints, and the readiness conditions for a possible applied model. The deliverable is a written scoping note that the client may circulate internally as the basis for a wider conversation. The engagement does not commit the client to a build, and the firm makes no claim about whether a build would be the right next step.
- Structured examination of the team's actual question
- Assessment of data readiness and constraint landscape
- Written note suitable for internal circulation
- No implied commitment to a subsequent build engagement
- Draft review by client team before final issue
fee
RM 1,090
per engagement
engagement 02
Reflective Review
A measured review of a client's existing applied system or set of systems. The review attends to model behaviour, data conditions, the human review processes around deployment, and the written record the team keeps of its own decisions. Findings are returned as a careful written assessment with a small number of considerations for the client's own discussion. Suitable for teams preparing for internal review or external audit.
- Review of model behaviour under operating conditions
- Assessment of data quality and governance conditions
- Examination of human review processes around deployment
- Review of the team's written decision record
- Written assessment with a small set of considerations
fee
RM 3,260
per engagement

Steady Companion
A twelve-month companion arrangement supporting an in-house team. The companion attends one monthly meeting, offers written reflection at quarterly intervals, and remains reachable for shorter conversations on technical or governance matters that arise across the year. The companion takes no directive role; its place is to offer steady, considered company to a team finding its own working rhythm.
- Attendance at one monthly meeting (remote or in person)
- Written reflection delivered at quarterly intervals
- Availability for shorter ad-hoc conversations across the year
- No directive or decision-making role in client operations
- Arrangement runs for twelve months from start date
annual fee
RM 4,490
twelve-month arrangement

What applies across all engagements
Confidentiality agreement
A mutual confidentiality agreement is in place before any substantive exchange of materials in any engagement type.
Named practitioner contact
Every client has a named practitioner contact throughout the engagement. Enquiries are responded to within two working days.
Written scope agreement
The scope, deliverables, and timeline are confirmed in writing before work begins. No work begins without this agreement in place.
Peer review of all written work
All deliverables are read by at least two members of the practice before issue. This is a standing norm, not a special procedure.
Encrypted data handling
Client materials shared with the firm are stored under encryption and deleted at engagement close unless the client requests otherwise.
Post-delivery conversation
A follow-up conversation to discuss questions arising from the deliverable is included in the fee for every engagement type.
